Policies and Information for Pet Care
What to Expect
With a focus on preventative care, we recommend annual or semi-annual wellness visits for all of our patients depending on their age and health status. These visits include a comprehensive physical examination from nose-to-tail to ensure your pet is happy and healthy into old age.
Please bring your pet’s medical history with you when you visit us. We encourage all pet owners to keep a detailed journal of their pet’s health throughout his or her life, including behavioral changes. If you have a resource like this, please share it with our team! If you do not record your pet’s medical history, that is not a problem. We ask that you simply let us know everything you feel is important. Our doctors are prepared to work with whatever information you provide.
In some cases, our doctors may refer you to a specialist with advanced expertise in areas such as internal medicine or surgery.
Payment Options
- Payment is expected when services are rendered. In order to focus on our patients’ needs, customer service, and minimizing costs, we do not bill.
- We accept debit cards, credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express), checks, and cash. All cards must be signed by the card owner.
- When unexpected illness strikes a pet, unexpected expense strikes as well. South Kendall Animal Hospital understands this and is able to make some special arrangements through our CareCredit® program. It takes a short 5 minutes to complete an application and will allow you to break down your payment into 6 monthly installments. You can either apply at our hospital, where we’ll call in your application over the phone for immediate approval, or apply yourself online. Learn more here: CareCredit®.
Highlights of the CareCredit® Program:
- Low Monthly Payments (3% of the total balance)
- Interest Free For 6 Months
- Determine Approval in a Few Minutes
- No Annual Fee

No Show & Late Policy
NO SHOW & LATE POLICY*
At South Kendall Animal Hospital, we understand that unexpected issues can arise and that you may need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. However, when you do not notify us in advance, it may prevent another pet from receiving necessary care.
A strong veterinary-client relationship is built on mutual trust and respect. Just as we strive to be on time for your scheduled appointments, we ask that you notify us promptly if you cannot keep your appointment. As a courtesy, we provide reminder texts before your appointment. Please review our policies below.
Late Arrival Policy
Cancellation Policy
To respect the medical needs of other patients, we kindly ask that you call at least 24 hours in advance if you are unable to keep your appointment. Appointments are in high demand, and your early cancellation will allow another patient access to timely veterinary care. This allows us to offer that time to another patient. If calling after hours, please leave a message on our voicemail or cancel via the PetDesk app.
Failure to provide sufficient notice may result in a “no-show” fee and future prepayment requirements.
No Show Policy
- First No Show:
- You will be contacted via phone, mail, or email regarding the missed appointment and reminded of our policy. A nonrefundable $35 no-show fee will apply, and you will be required to prepay the $75 exam fee (or current exam fee price) to reschedule. This exam fee will be applied to your next visit.
Note: If you are a new client and miss your first appointment without notifying us, you will be removed from our client list and unable to book future appointments.
- Second No Show:
- The $75 deposit (or current exam fee price) from your previous appointment will not be refunded. You may reschedule one final appointment with an additional $75 (or cost of current exam fee) prepayment.
