No Show & Late Policy

NO SHOW & LATE POLICY*

At South Kendall Animal Hospital, we understand that unexpected issues can arise and that you may need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. However, when you do not notify us in advance, it may prevent another pet from receiving necessary care.

A strong veterinary-client relationship is built on mutual trust and respect. Just as we strive to be on time for your scheduled appointments, we ask that you notify us promptly if you cannot keep your appointment. As a courtesy, we provide reminder texts before your appointment. Please review our policies below.

Late Arrival Policy
We make every effort to be punctual for all scheduled appointments. When even one patient arrives late, it can disrupt the entire schedule and affect the care of others. Rushing or “squeezing in” an appointment shortchanges the patients and contributes to decreased quality of care. For this reason, clients arriving 15 minutes or later to their scheduled appointment will be rescheduled. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Late arrivals that result in rescheduling will be recorded as a no show and may result in a no show fee.
Cancellation Policy

To respect the medical needs of other patients, we kindly ask that you call at least 24 hours in advance if you are unable to keep your appointment. Appointments are in high demand, and your early cancellation will allow another patient access to timely veterinary care. This allows us to offer that time to another patient. If calling after hours, please leave a message on our voicemail or cancel via the PetDesk app.

Failure to provide sufficient notice may result in a “no-show” fee and future prepayment requirements.

No Show Policy
A “no show” is defined as a client who misses an appointment without prior notice. Failure to be present at the scheduled time without cancelling will be recorded in the patient’s chart as a “No Show.”
  • First No Show:
    • You will be contacted via phone, mail, or email regarding the missed appointment and reminded of our policy. A nonrefundable $35 no-show fee will apply, and you will be required to prepay the $75 exam fee (or current exam fee price) to reschedule. This exam fee will be applied to your next visit.
Note: If you are a new client and miss your first appointment without notifying us, you will be removed from our client list and unable to book future appointments.
  • Second No Show:
    • The $75 deposit (or current exam fee price) from your previous appointment will not be refunded. You may reschedule one final appointment with an additional $75 (or cost of current exam fee) prepayment.
  • Third No Show (within one year):
    • You will be discharged from the practice, and no previous deposits will be refunded.

*Please note, this applies to regular appointments. Surgical/specialty appointments have a separate policy.

We appreciate your understanding, cooperation, and continued support. These policies are in place to ensure that all our patients receive the highest level of care in a timely manner.
